UAE RoHS Regulations
The UAE enacted a Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Regulation on April 28, 2017, reflecting the EU RoHS Directive 2011/65. Compliance with the Regulation will require importers who place electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) onto the UAE market to plan for compliance by understanding and making declarations on the specifications and composition of their products as well as obtaining an Emirates Conformity Assessment System (ECAS) Certificate of Conformity for RoHS. This mandatory environmental certification program comes into effect from 01 January 2018.
