Higg FEM 4.0
Training Program – Intertek Academy
Cascale, formerly The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), was formed in March 2011 and is a multi-stakeholder group composed of leaders in the global apparel industry consisting of brands, retailers, manufactures or facilities, non-profits, governments, service providers and trade associations. The focus of the Cascale is the development and use of the HIGG Index: a suite of self-assessment tools designed to measure the sustainability impacts of apparel and footwear products.
Introduction
The Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) is a tool developed by the Cascale to help apparel and footwear companies measure and improve their environmental sustainability performance. The Higg FEM training provides individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to use the tool effectively.
There are several benefits of Higg FEM training, including:
- Improved environmental sustainability performance: The Higg FEM tool helps companies identify areas of improvement in their environmental sustainability performance. By using the tool, companies can track their progress over time and work to reduce their environmental impact.
- Increased stakeholder engagement: Higg FEM training encourages collaboration and communication across stakeholders within an organization. This can help increase stakeholder engagement, which is essential for the success of environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Cost savings: Improving environmental sustainability performance can lead to cost savings. By reducing energy consumption, waste, and other environmental impacts, companies can save money on their operations.
- Competitive advantage: As consumers become more environmentally conscious, companies that prioritize sustainability are likely to have a competitive advantage. Higg FEM training can help companies achieve this advantage by improving their sustainability performance.
- Alignment with industry standards: Higg FEM is aligned with industry standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) program. By using Higg FEM, companies can ensure that their sustainability performance is aligned with these important standards.
